Congrats to the MUMLERS!!

The Mumlers

We just got word that the Mumlers won the Bleeding Edge juried competition (by curators Robert Crouch and Brett Allen). They will perform at the all-day music event on August 13 and receive up to a two-week recording session and residency at SnowGhost Sound Studios in Whitefish, Montana.

Additional winners that will perform are: Morning Benders, Canned Corpus Callosum & Obelus. (There were only going to be 2 winners, but the curators liked these four so much they made extra spots for them in the lineup!)

We have a limited supply of Bleeding Edge Festival tickets here at AD for $40 (that's $10 off!). Get 'em before they're gone!

What would you do for Yo La Tengo?

What would you give Yo La Tengo to play on AD's Street Mrkt stage the night before the Bleeding Edge Festival?

Troy, "I'd give them all of my love letters."
Patricia, "I'd bake them a pie every month for a year with in season fruit."
Brian, "I'd give them my mudball that I made when I was 10 and leaving my St. Louis home."

What would you give them? (add to the list!)

See what others are saying...

The lineup:

Brian
Sit back, relax and demodulate as this 21st-century one-man techno band fills the room with ambient, mid-tempo soundscapes. The organic and electric come together under the watchfull eye and steady beat of a man known as Brian.

Yosimar Reyes migrated to the United States from Atoyac de Alvarez, Guerrero a small town in Mexico. He maintains strong cultural roots and uses both English and Spanish to express himself in his poetry. His poetry stems from personal experiences, his neighborhood and the social political issues that affect him and the greater community. He holds the title of the 2006 South Bay Teen Grand Slam Champion and has performed all over the Bay Area. As part of MACLA's youth collective, he formed one fifth of the group that traveled to New York City, where he competed in the International Brave New Voices Spoken Word competition.
