Banksy Angel

If you're in L.A. this weekend, Sept 15-17th, you should attend Banksy's "three day vandalizing warehouse extravaganza" at a location to be announced the day of the opening by visiting his site.

Troy Curtis at Anno Domini

Our good friend and partner in crime, Troy Curtis, is heading out east with the Perpetual Motion Roadshow. If you live in or find yourself visiting Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, New York, Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto between September 16th through the 23rd, you should pay one of the fine hosting venues a visit and catch his performance. Troy will be travelling to 7 cities over 8 days to perform with China Martens (zinestress extraordinaire) from Baltimore and Eric Lab Rat (faithful urban scribe) from Chicago.

Troy's debut album Songs for Girls Who Don't Deserve Them (recorded in an abandoned church) will accompany him on the journey as well. Please show him some of that East Coast and Canadian love!

PMR heads out west again starting in November. Watch Anno Domini's schedule for details.

This Friday's shaping up to be a busy night. After Fan Ho's reception (see below) it's back down to SJ where we'll head over to the Blue Monkey for AVA (audio.video.art) with live electronic music by Derek Scott, Qorser, Steve Cooley, noka and Chachi Jones and an interactive video by Steve Cooley. (and we'll see if we can't get a round of bowling in between!)

Over a year and a half in the making with 90 artists participating, COLLABRO opens tonight with 70 collaborative paintings and music by Sacramento's Be Brave Bold Robot. Poor Al, the curator and creative mind behind this exhibit, will be here on hand to celebrate. AD is proud to be the Bay Area host for Collabro which debuted in May 06 at Subject Matter Gallery and has plans to move onto New York next year. Read the Juxtapoz interview here.

Deathat

Barefoot Coffee is one of the best roasters and cafes in town. Much of their success is that the folks that work there are artists and take "the art of coffee" very seriously. This Saturday, Sept 2nd, they're showcasing an evening of art and music by Corpus Callosum, Deathat and The Peculiar Pretzelmen.
