Two Fish Design, the producers of Phantom Galleries and owners of Anno Domini gallery, announces the launch of a new gallery specifically for local artists called KALEID (Greek for beauty and form, and a shortened take on kaleidoscope.)

KALEID will feature over 60 artists from the San Jose area, giving them exhibit and sales opportunities like no other here in Silicon Valley. The gallery will showcase fine art, limited editions and creative gifts in a wide range of mediums and price points originating from the artists themselves. 60' of prime wall space will be awarded to two artists each month with a reception on First Fridays of the month.

Join us for the Grand Opening on First Friday, February 2nd from 7-9pm. Deborah Mills Thackery and Everett Taasevigen will be the featured artists. Music performances by DeatHat and Benjamin Henderson.

"Strange DIY Film Hits Sundance"

San Jose's M dot Strange hits the big screen tonight at the Sundance Film Festival with his feature length animation, "We Are The Strange." Mista Strange, as he's known around town, has been creating this labor-of-love for the past 3 years locked in a basement somewhere beneath the streets of San Jose. Some notable local artists that lent their talents to this incredibly creative effort include David Choe, Sean Boyles, and Mitsy Ovalles. Congratulations!

If you can't make it up to Sundance this week for one of the four screenings, fear not, your next opportunity to meet the professor of Strange himself is just around the corner at Cinequest in San Jose. Anno Domini will present an exhibit in conjunction with the festival featuring art from the making of "We Are The Strange." The artists' reception will be held on First Friday, March 2nd, 2007. Indie Press Showcase Rolls Into Town.

The Perpetual Motion Roadshow (an indie press touring circuit) is doing its monthly run of the west coast, with stops in Vancouver, Portland, Ashland, Berkeley, San Francisco and San Jose .

This month features seductive mesmerizer JANE ORMEROD from New York City, ethereal-floaty-pop singer LISA DEWEY from San Jose, CA, and subgenius street performer JANOR HYPERCLEETS from Redwood City, CA. The tour runs from Jan. 13th-18th, doing 6 shows in 6 days.

Rick Walker aka Loop.pooL performs with Los Angeles based "Your Drugs My Money" at Anno Domini on Saturday, January 13th in downtown San Jose.

New in the store: Andrew Schoultz has a new book out full of his latest paintings. Andrew's work has become incredibly detailed and narrative over the past two years and has been doing well with exhibits all over the nation, and rightly so!
