Portishead's Geoff Barrow has opened The Friend & Co. a tiny gallery in Bristol with plans to show outsider art. With a capacity of about 3 people at any given time, there will surely be a constant line outside the door which will only add to the spectacle of the small.
We've often thought, (and expressed that thought but, as of yet, none has taken heed), that some of the years- vacant spaces in SoFA should be divided up into small, manageable footprints for indie artists and creators retail shops. Can you imagine about 20 of these cool funky indie owned galleries/boutiques up and down South First...it'd really be a somethin'!
