Left Coast Live is a week-long music experience showcasing the talent of 100 local, regional and national bands in 35 Downtown San Jose venues including cafes, museums, bars and restaurants. The event kicks off with a future of music discussion series, followed by two preview concerts, an outdoor cinema, and culminating Friday, May 15th in a live indoor/outdoor music festival all within the core of downtown San Jose.
This ambitious 5 day event aims to seriously push the local music scene forward and ultimately help San Jose become recognized around the region (and perhaps throughout the country) as a potential center for the live music experience.
Monday through Thursday events for Left Coast Live are free and open to the public. Admission for the Friday evening concert is $15 for an advanced purchase ticket and $20 at the door. Purchase Tickets
This week-long Music Festival includes:
- "Sound of Things to Come" Discussion Series, a forum to explore different aspects of music in today's society from digital music and industry trends to intimate artist discussions Monday - Thursday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. at various downtown locations.
- Preview concerts presented by Alice 97.3 on Tuesday featuring Safety Suit at Gordon Biersh and Wednesday, May 13, Ambience graces the Blank Club's stage presented by Live 105.
- An Outdoor Cinema in the Circle of Palms showing the movie "Before the Music Dies", with introductory shorts by Alice 97.3's "Best of" from their 3-minute Film Festival on Thursday.
- The Friday Night Live Music Festival kicks off with two outdoor stages with performances from our headliners from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. After 9 pm, our event spills into 30 venues throughout downtown San Jose featuring acts in a variety of styles, including rock, jazz, and Latin. Performers include Lyrics Born, Booker T., Miggs, The Mumlers, La Colectiva, Max Cabello Jr., Martin Luther, Gina Villalobos, Careless Hearts, The Marcus Shelby Trio and Good Hustle.
