Early this morning, nearly a million New Yorkers were stunned by the appearance of a "special edition" New York Post blaring headlines that their city could face deadly heat waves, extreme flooding, and other lethal effects of global warming within the next few decades. The most alarming thing about it: the news came from an official City report.

Distributed by over 2000 volunteers throughout New York City, the paper has been created by The Yes Men and a coalition of activists as a wake-up call to action on climate change. It appears one day before a UN summit where Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon will push 100 world leaders to make serious commitments to reduce carbon emissions in the lead-up to the Copenhagen climate conference in December. Ban has said that the world has "less than 10 years to halt (the) global rise in greenhouse gas emissions if we are to avoid catastrophic consequences for people and the planet," adding that Copenhagen is a "once-in-a-generation opportunity."

The video above is the result of a new collaboration between Radiohead's Thom Yorke and the infamous street artist Banksy on a video for this new solo song "The Hallow Earth." It was created by American filmmaker Raymond Salvatore Harmon and features images of Banksy's work transposed over the entrance of a bustling London Tube station.

Yorke's new single was made available today as a free download from the members' area of waste.uk.com, along with its double A-side FeelingPulledApartByHorses.

Just came across these amazing time-lapses shot by Ben Wiggins, aka Delrious, during Burning Man 2009. Double click for full screen. Music "Halcyon 2k" by Roy Two Thousand.

We first mentioned this a few days ago on twitter, but thought you’d like to see the latest video that shows the painted Thalys leaving the Brussels station on the 15th of September.

SEAK (Cologne), Jonone (Paris), Sozyone (Brussels), and Zedz (Amsterdam) painted four cars of the European king train today at “Gare du Nord” in Paris. They had 3 hours and 15 minutes to finish the painting, that’s the new time the new Thalys needs from Paris to Cologne.

PJOTA prepares for exhibition at Anno Domini

Pjota arrived in California a little over a month ago to prepare for his first solo exhibition outside of Brasil. We first encountered his art in 2007 when we travelled to Sao Paulo to hang out with our good friends Bruno 9li and Stephan Doitschinoff. Pjota (19 at the time) was part of a group show exhibiting at Choque Cultural. We were really impressed by the depth of his work and surprised to find out he was so young. In 2008 we made arrangements for his debut solo exhibition at Anno Domini. The following interview took place during his stay here in California.

An exhibition in an abandoned house in the form of a collaborative effort between: Foma <3, Klone, Know Hope, Zero Cents. This exhibition came to life as a natural extension of the constant collaborative creation of the group.
