"In Sight: Out of Mind"
Back in 2001, San Jose lost one of it's cultural proliferators, Jim Vetter, in the wake of the Tech boom. Like many of us trying to keep inspiration alive in the Bay Area, his voice was drowned out by the growing economy as the cost of living became unbearable. Jim shut down his gallery 806 shortly before the collapse, packed up and moved to Sacramento where he launched SkyLab, a creative resource for youth.
SKYLAB's first project looks at homeless teens; "In Sight: Out of Mind" opens this Saturday, December 11, in Sacramento.
Read the article on the project Homeless teens tell their stories, by Will Evans from Sunday's Sacramento Bee.
