SoFA Logo Contest - $500!
The SoFA District is a social place with varying personalities. By day, we enjoy galleries, cafes, business professionals, tourists, conventioners and university as well as high school students. By night, we have fine dining restaurants, performances and special events at the California Theater, and a number of clubs, lounges and galleries that provide various night culture options. The logo should reflect these varying experiences to a broad range of audience. We encourage all applicants to visit the SoFA district during the day and / or night time to understand SoFA's distinctive social atmosphere.
The logo may appear on, but not limited to, South First Street kiosks, district event announcements, ads, banners, websites, emails, walking maps, etc.
Deadline is March 24th. Download the entry form here.

This First Friday, March 2nd, Jai Tanju will be having an exhibit at Good Karma on South First (and Post St.) called Print Exchange. It's premise is simple, if you want cool things in the mail from family, friends or artists, send them something cool! "This exhibit will be devoted to the pictures, postcards or whatever I got in the mail via The Print Exhcange last year." ~Jai

Daniel Jesse Lewis featured on KQED's "Gallery Crawl"
KQED stopped by Anno Domini and MACLA two weeks ago for a new arts & culture segment, "Gallery Crawl". The project sheds light on the two galleries in downtown San Jose's SoFA district and takes you on a journey through the currently featured exhibits via the voices of the artists themselves. You can view a video of what they found.

Power Up with ANP's Sixth Quarterly Issue!
RVCA's quarterly publication, ANP issue 6, just arrived at Anno Domini. As usual it's packed full of inspiration... from '60's pop-art nun, Sister Corita Kent, to the folks at PAPER RAD. Drop by the gallery and pick one up while they last!

Art's happenin'
One of the fun things after an opening is seeing all the new art announcements on our counter. These shows are coming up by people we really like.
Makiko Ogawa did a wonderful Phantom Galleries years ago so we're glad to see she's still painting. She will be showing at Globus Gallery in Locke through March.
Local legend Jai Tanju will be having an exhibit and book release party at Black & Brown Clothing on Friday, February 16th from 7-10pm. Looking forward to seeing what he's put together this time!
And if you haven't been by in a while, stop by for lunch at Good Karma Restaurant and check out the exhibit by Anabella Pinon and Miguel Machura. (Thanks in advance to Onibatsu for the use of the above image!)
