Volume Control: A Fundraiser for the APIA Spoken Word & Poetry Summit
December 19, 2007
@ MACLA

Featuring Performances by: Kiwi, Ill-Literacy, Denizen Kane, Mush, Lolan, Hollis Wong-Wear & Cutso of Fingerbangerz & DJ Phatrick
This event features the best and most talented poets and artist coming out of the Bay Area today. These artists have been respectively featured on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, Youth Speaks, locally and internationally. They come to speak to the people and youth of the South Bay, sharing the “talk stories” of their ancestors as well as their lives. This will be a night filled with energy, creation, and inspiration, hopefully leading others to do the same.
This is a first in many fundraisers that will be held locally and nationwide helping the APIA Bay Area Summit Committee bring the first and only summit that helps continuing and emerging writers/poets/artist of East, West, South Asian decent come together and share their stories in 2009.
For more information hit up www.apiasummit.com for the history of the summit.
